AFTER SCHOOL
- Unsupervised after-school hours are a prime time for vandalism, alcohol, drug use, and sex by kids. - KidsPeace, The National Center for Kids Overcoming Crisis, was established in 1882 to help chidren and teens overcome crises in their lives. Their 24-hour crisis information and intervention hotline is 1-800-334-4KID. It is available for kids, parents and professionals across the U.S.
- TeenCentral.Net is part of the "You're Not Alone" campaign, a nationwide outreach and awareness effort launched in 1998 by KidsPeace to reach teens who are confronted by crises and struggling to overcome them independently. TeenCentral.Net is a website that connects teens to other teens from around the country and offers a variety of problem-solving resources for teens. It provides help for teens from teens anonymously, opening them up to dialogue and providing safe, useful advice.
